Fannie Lou Hamer

There are many people that have a huge impact on history, but the one I chose I think have made a huge impact and she Fannie Lou Hamer. Fannie Lou Hamer was the one of the first African American to register to vote. She struggled to make history, but she did it. Fannie got put in jail and beaten half to deaf, but she still never gave up on what was right. With famous line "I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired she accomplish many aspects of life. She was brave and not afraid to speech her mind. Not only did she change the U.S.A, she made a huge impact in history and in the constitution.

Fannie Lou Hamer was born October 6,1917, in Montgomery Country, Mississippi. She was the granddaughter of slaves. She was the youngest of 19 brothers and sisters. The thing that influenced her was her religious beliefs, so, in 1962, when Fannie was 44 years old, she volunteered for SNCC (Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee) to hold a voters registration meeting. She had realized that African-Americans had a constitutional right to vote. The SNCC members asked for volunteers to go to the courthouse to register to vote, when they were there, Fannie was the first to raise her hand and she knew that was a bad decision. She and others went to the courthouse; they were jailed and beaten by the police. Her courageous act got her thrown off the plantation where she was a sharecropper. She also began to receive constant death threats and was even shot at. Still, Fannie could not be discouraged. She became a SNCC Field Secretary and traveled around the country speaking and registering people to vote.

Revision

Because survival of the fittest (in the mind) took place took place in this story, the clever and the smartest animals took over. Animal Farm was created by author George Orwell in the 1945. George wrote this story in England to use satire to criticize the dictators in Russia and Russian people. Also this book was written to inform the Russian people to wake up and stop believing the the dictators lies. In this story, the way characters respond to stories had a strong connection to their ability to survive.

The first character is Squeal the Story Twisting Pig. He always lie to cover up the truth. For example, Squealer lied about the windmill. He said Snowball knocked it down the windmill. What really happened a storm came in knocked it down. Another lie he made up was about Boxer's death. Squealer said, Boxer went to the hospital and died. But really, Boxer had got sick, so they sold him to the Horse Slaughterer and Glue Boiler. Lastly, he lied about the commandments. The story clearly states on page 43 the forth commandment says," No animal shall sleep in a bed." But clever Squealer said, everything you lay on a considered a bed and the bed don't have sheets. In conclusion clever Squealer not only survive he turn into a human and is rich and power.

Another character is Boxer the Believer. Boxer believes everything everyone says. For example, on page 84 and 85 says," Squealer made excellent speeches on the joy service and the dignity of labour, but the other animals found more inspiration in Boxer's strength and his never-failing cry of "I will work harder!" This shows that Boxer believes that Squealer is his master and he needs to obey everything Squealer says. Also, Boxer believed that Snowball knocks the windmill down. But what really happened was that storm knocking it down. Lastly, Squealer and Napoleon told him when he got sick he wouldn't have to work. But, Boxer believed him and continued and when Boxer's was hurt real bad they send him to the glue maker. In conclusion, Boxer the Believer got sold to Horse Slaughterer and Glue Boiler and got killed.

The last character is Benjamin the obstinate and smart donkey. He stayed to himself but he never believed anything anybody said. For example, Boxer's death. He tried to tell the animals that the truck that Boxer got in was a Horse Slaughterer. But when Squealer told the animals a different story everyone believed Squealer side instead of Benjamin. Another thing Benjamin didn't believe is the commandments. Because Squealer tried to twist a commandment 4 by saying that u can sleep on a bed without sheets and Benjamin was the only one to understand what the wall said. Lastly, Benjamin didn't agree on the debate of Snowball and Napoleon about building the windmill. For example,on page 65 it says, "Benjamin was the only animal who did not side with either fraction."So that meant that he didn't really care about there plans. In the end Benjamin survives but he still work.

In conclusion, the ability to survive on Animal Farm depends on the ability to manipulate or see through stories. Squealer in the end was rich and powerful. Boxer ending was morose and sad because he died. Lastly, Benjamin ending was better than Boxer because he survived, but, he still had to work. This story and many other stories have a powerful ending, so, citizens and others should be aware of how they interpreted or take in these stories.

This magazine explain Fannie's  hard life when she was younger. She had to work in the fields most of her younger years and when she had time she would go to school. At the age of 44 Fannie started to get into the movement of equality on right to vote. Fannie and 17 others people drove to register to vote. Throughout Fannie's life she always strong and determined to made this huge impact and for her courageous act we all can vote.

This research helped a lot because I learned a lot of things that I didn't know. For example, Fannie Lou Hamer ran for Second Congressional House District.

Who's Responsible for pigs' rise to power? the pigs? or the animals?

It was the animal fault that the pigs had all the power because they let them rise. For example, page 75 states that,"Napoleon (the pig) is always right."Also they listened to what they said and the animals put trust in them so they just let them rise.Another reason why the pigs rised up to the top is because the animals respected Boxer so much and Boxer believed in Napoleon, so the animals followed. For example page 26 it says,"Boxer was not of first-rate intelligent, but he was universally repsected." Also Boxer was an hard worker and animals also respected him for that. Lastly, the animals put trust in the pigs. For example everytime Sqealer made up a lie they believe them and they were force to believe the pigs. Also they were dying because of not believing the pig by dogs. In conclusion this is how we the people are now blinded by the media and listening to things that are not true, so think about what your listening to and if it don't sound right take a stand.

Animals Farm
In this story "Animal Farm" the character response to the rebellion very differently.
Firstly, Napoleon and Snowball spreaded the words to other animals get support to rebel. They got support by sending messageners tell about the rebellion. They also were teaching the animals the song called "The Beast of England".Secondly, the characters Fredrick and Pikington tried to twist the rebellion story .For example, they said "it's a dumb idea", they said"they will never make it" and etc. Also, they were terrible and wickedness.Lastly, the animals on the other farms embraced the story and stated to rebel. They started singing "The Breast of England so show there gratitude for the rebellion. And also, they even rebelled them self by not doing anything and they didn't listen to the farmer. In conslusion, even thougk the characters responded differently, the animals still over power the story.

The Most Dangerous Game

The Most Dangerous Game

In the story "The Most Dangerous Game" Richard Connell made this story to have more toward liberty than equality because all he do is pay attention to the two main character and the main characters are rich and they are hunters. There are other characters in the story, but you really don't hear from them and that's not fair to the readers. First, Connell uses the character of Rainsford to show liberty. For example he says,"The world is made up in two classes the hunters and the huntees." This quote shows that Rainsford only cares about the hunters (including himself) and not the animals. Another example is Connell makes Rainford care for himself and not anyone else; he killed two men and a dog. Another main character Connell uses to show liberty is Zaroff. Connell really uses Zaroff for liberty by making him live on island where he makes his own rules. In the story Zaroff said,"It must have courage, cunning and, above all, it must be able to reason," so he hunted humans. And that not equality when you hunt humans that don't want to be hunted. Lastly, the characters that we really didn't and don't really know about are:Ivan, the sailors and Whitney. They probably were for equality, but we will never know. So as a reader I can infer that Connell was for liberty and not equality.
